Pyohex Medicated Shampoo For Dogs 250ml

Active Constituent

30 g/L Chlorohexidine Gluconate

Indications

Aids in the treatment of superficial dermatitis associated with infections by Staphylococcus intermedius in dogs

Uses

This topical antibacterial shampoo is formulated to remove dirt and scale, degrease the skin and kill cutaneous micro-organisms which primarily or secondarily cause dermatitis

Treats superficial bacterial skin infections which are common in dogs with skin disease

Causes of secondary bacterial infections may include allergies, hormonal or endocrine disease or parasitic infections

It is vital to treat the secondary infections as well as the main condition

Chlorohexidine Gluconate has antibacterial properties to fight against most bacteria that is found in superficial bacterial dermatitis

The shampoo should be used twice weekly until the infection has improved

Following this, using once every 2 weeks is recommended.

Directions for Use

Thoroughly wet the dog with clean water

Apply shampoo at various points on the pet

Massage into a lather. A sponge may assist with this and with penetration through the coat

Leave in contact with the skin for 10 minutes – During this time pets must be supervised to ensure that ingestion or inhalation of the product does not occur

Rinse thoroughly

Precautions

Use with caution around eyes. If shampoo enters animal’s eye, flush thoroughly with clean water. Seek veterinary advice if eye changes are observed

Pets should not be left unattended during the standing process as licking or inhaling shampoo foam may result in irritation of the gastrointestinal or respiratory tracts.

Antibiotic therapy is recommended for the initial control of infection or where deep pyodermas exist.

Disposal

Dispose of empty container by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage
